Extreme Makeover Home EditionHubbell Homes was honored to have rolled up its collective sleeves in order to lend a helping hand to a deserving Iowa family in September 2006. Our values and commitment to excellence is why Hubbell Homes was selected as the exclusive Iowa builder for ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. In one week, Hubbell Homes, in association with its valued trade partners, subcontractors, and numerous volunteers, built the Kibe family the home of their dreams. This challenge demonstrated the philosophies and traditions Hubbell was founded upon over 150 years ago – our dedication to community and family. Des Moines Arts Festival and Nurturing a Student's Vision

Nurturing A Student's Vision
Hubbell Homes is proud to sponsor artwork from some of central Iowa's youngest artists in association with the Des Moines Art Center and the Des Moines Arts Festival. Hundreds of student artists from kindergarten through high school are featured every year in an exhibition at the Des Moines Arts Festival, highlighting creativity and diversity through art.

2007 Holiday CardHubbell Homes is proud to award local schools hundreds of dollars for art supplies every year in conjunction with the Nurturing a Student’s Vision program and a separate holiday card design contest.

 

  

Local Chambers

  

Hubbell Homes is a member of eight local chambers of commerce. It is important that we take an active role in local business in the communities where we build so we can better respond to the needs and desires of the residents, as well as to encourage economic development. Chambers we are involved with include: Altoona Area Chamber of Commerce, Ames Chamber of Commerce, Ankeny Area Chamber of Commerce, Carlisle Chamber of Commerce, Grimes Chamber & Economic Development, Johnston Chamber of Commerce, Norwalk Chamber of Commerce, and Urbandale Chamber of Commerce.

 

  

Green Living

  

As a community we have become aware in recent years of the substantial effects that we as humans can have on the environment. Hubbell Homes is committed to lessening the impact we have on the environment as a homebuilder. Every home that we build goes beyond the guidelines set out by ENERGY STAR, and we are constantly analyzing and incorporating the latest environmental techniques and products available to homebuilders.

Our commitment to green is not just part of a fad. We are active as a board member for the Iowa Center on Sustainable Communities External Link so that we can learn and share with other builders. In fact, it is so important that our builders are fluent in the language of green that we require them to take classes and participate in conferences on this subject.
