It was over 150 years ago that 16-year-old Frederick M. Hubbell arrived in the little town of Fort Des Moines, Iowa, with a keen eye for business and a knack for giving customers exceptional service. By 1856, he had executed his first real estate transaction. By the time of his death in 1930, he had founded a landmark insurance company (The Equitable of Iowa); established flourishing ventures in railroads and public utilities; and become one of the most successful real estate investors in the state’s history. That incredible entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to customer satisfaction served as the foundation for the Hubbell family of companies.
