On 9/9/09, Hubbell Homes began construction on a nine-plex housing structure, located at the corner of 21st and Forest Avenue in Des Moines, Iowa.  This nine-plex consists of rental homes to families with household incomes of $13,000 or less. The homes were constructed for and managed by Anawim Housing, a local non-profit organization that provides safe, affordable housing to low-income families.  The entire construction of the home was donated- from the trusses, drywall and paint, down to the very last nail. Although the plan was to build 9 homes in 9 days, Hubbell Homes, along with their trade partners, subcontractors and volunteers successfully built 9 homes in 7 days. This Anawim project will continue to positively impact the lives of hundreds of families for years to come.
